Who's Who?

...and a brief explanation of what's what.

CFM's Executive Committee (ExCom)

The ExCom consists of 6 CFM members, elected by popular vote by the membership of CFM, to oversee the administrative needs of the group as a whole. The ExCom members serve a one-year term, starting January 1st and running through December 31st. The members are elected to the ExCom, not to the positions - once seated, the first order of business a new ExCom must address is which member fills which position. There is a term limit of three years for every ExCom member, and after a year's absence, a candidate is permitted to run again. Note that ExCom members may also hold appointed positions as well; there are no term limits as such, each appointed position is renewed upon the seating of a new ExCom.

Appointed Positions

These are the non-voting, appointed officers of CFM. Each office expires upon the first ExCom meeting of the new year, and in most cases, with the officer willing to continue, are duly re-appointed as a matter of course.

Newsletter Editor: Mel Dahl
The Editor is repsonsible for the production of The Flame, CFM's monthly newsletter.

Calendar Editor: Mel Dahl
The Calendar Editor is a member of the Newsletter staff, and is appointed by the Editor. He schedules all the events listed in the monthly calendar of events.

Gifted Children's Coordinator: Keri Guilbault
The GCCs work with our younger members, and try to make Mensa a more positive experience for them. The GCCs also work with the local school systems when appropriate.

Membership: Nora Foust
The membership chair is the liaison between the general CFM membership and the ExCom.

Testing and Proctor Coordinator: Maggie Truelove
This office holds the reponsibility to schedule and oversee the Mensa Entrance Exams, as well as making sure that we have enough approved Proctors to do so.

Scholarship: Maggie Truelove
The Scholarship Chair administers our local scholarship. This scholarship is completely CFM's responsibility, and should not be confused with the ones awarded by The Mensa Foundation (see below).  The Local Scholarship is given exclusively to Mensa qualified graduating high school seniors and is given with no limits to usage.

Ombudsman: Mike Tuchman
The ombudsman acts as a mediator between the membership of CFM and the ExCom, or between members of CFM, in the unlikely event that such a need should arise.

Mensa Foundation: Chris Brinkman
The Mensa Foundation (formerly known as MERF) Chair is the liaison between CFM and the National Mensa Foundation Office. They coordinate the reception and judging of the essays, and also the awarding of the Mensa Foundation scholarship(s) to any and all of the local winners.

Webmaster:  Eddie Truelove
The Webmaster is responsible for the group's website, which you are presently reading.

S.I.G.H.T.: Tom Bush
The acronym stands for Service, Information, Guidance and Hospitality for Travelers. This officer handles requests from out-of-state/foreign Mensans (or their SIGHT Coordinators) involving local lodging, restaurants and/or general local information. In some cases, local members have offered to put traveling Mensans up in their homes for a night or two, for little or no charge, just to be friendly. If you'd be interested in learning about being a SIGHT host, contact the chair.

Area Coordinators
Since CFM is such a geographically large group (and to avoid any accusations of being Orlando-centric), these officers are available to handle questions about their respective counties, and any events occurring therein.
